Correspondence to the NEJM: Plasma Neutralization of the SARS-CoV-2 Omicron Variant
The results are pretty much what I've already seen.
I find the presentation of the content, uh, disorganized. Maybe it is best to go to the PDF and download it, and just look at the graphs
I find it disturbing that the two rows of graphs have different vertical scales (so it is easy to compare across row A or row B, but you have to check the numbers to compare between row A and B). I would ignore the PMS20 numbers.
Most of us will be row B (mRNA + Booster):
Even (with plasma from) 1 month after 2nd mRNA, the protection against Omicron was quite low (compared to against the original strain). However, the low level didn't drop much from month 1 to month 5 (but was still very much lower (133x or so) than against the original strain). A booster upped the level of protection very significantly against Omicron, well beyond what it was at 1 month. It actually starts to get close to the protection levels of the mRNA vaccines against the original strain at 6 months after the 2nd.
You can also see that a natural infection of the original strain + mRNA vaccine was pretty equivalent to just getting the vaccine when looking at effectiveless against Omicron.
The J&J vaccine didn't have a measurable effect, so it isn't shown.
